APPROACH TO TREATMENT
A.R.C.C. treatment team consists of a professional multidisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Therapists, Instructors and Addiction Specialists. We developed an intervention protocol that is designed to confront the client’s core “belief system” and improve "emotional intelligence" levels in a therapeutic environment. Our goal is to enhance traditional treatment approach by developing a therapeutic protocol that help decrease the effects of cognitive distortions and emotional instability that can lead to relapse.
Our theory is that cognitive distortion occurs when the individual makes decisions by relying on core beliefs and emotions. An example of this effect can be seen when the individual hits “rock bottom”. The trauma of hitting “rock bottom” creates an emotional state of mind that can facilitate a temporary willingness to change. It is our experience however, that this willingness soon fades with time and old behaviors return. The belief that one day they can “use” successfully motivates the client to play Russian roulette with their lives. Rather than waiting for another traumatic event (rock bottom).
